The joys of folding underwear!' Lourdes gets no special treatment as she takes summer job on Madonna's tour

You might think that the daughter of superstar Madonna would live a gilded life.
After all, Lourdes' mother is rich enough for the teen to never have to do a day's work.
But there was no special treatment for the youngster when she took a job working for her mother this summer.
The 16-year-old was employed in the wardrobe department during Madonna's MDNA tour, and even found herself folding up sweaty underwear.
She wrote on her blog: ‘This summer I was surprisingly productive. So, I thought I would tell you all about the joys of folding underwear.
'As you probably know this woman I like to call my mother went on tour for her MDNA album.
‘As a summer job I decided to work in the wardrobe department. All of my friends were getting summer jobs and I wanted one too. Mine was a little unconventional but still a great experience and a lot of fun.’
The teenager explained that despite being the boss’s child, she still felt the pressure while carrying out the job.
She continued: ‘Being in the wardrobe department meant me and a few other girls dressed the dancers during the show when they had quick changes.  
‘Thirty seconds to totally dress a sweaty dancer can be insane and provoke mucho anxiety.  Doing this night after night was pretty cray, but I loved every minute of it.’
But there were some perks.
Lourdes - whose father is personal trainer Carlos Leon - said she enjoyed visiting Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Copenhagen in Denmark and Turkey the most, and has taken to life on the road.

 

She added: ‘It's really a great experience to be able to work on a large production, traveling around like a family, setting up for an amazing show and all having the same purpose.

‘I developed really good relationships with a number of people, not just in wardrobe but in other departments too. Dancers, singers, sound crew, catering, etc. To be able to be a part of such an inspiring production was one of my best summers so far.’
Spirited Lourdes has made it clear that despite her mother's vast wealth she intends to forge her own way in life.
She is said to be planning her escape to the performing arts school Bard College outside of New York to flee from her mother's strict rules, and plans on paying for it herself.

And the young girl is so desperate to be independent, she wants to pay her own way through college.
Lourdes has teamed up with her mother to create the teenage clothing line Material Girl, and will presumably use the money she earned through that to pay the expensive college fees.
A source told The Sun: 'Lourdes can’t wait to leave home and get to university. She’s already planned it all.

'She’s also fed up being in the spotlight. That’s why she didn’t go on stage during Madonna’s tour.'
Lourdes' half-brother, Rocco, 12, has also had an active role in the MDNA shows, and has been on stage to dance with his mother most nights.
Madonna also has two younger adopted children, Mercy James, six, and David Banda, seven, but it is not known if they were with her throughout the tour.
