Only we can make insanity look this sexy': Adam Levine makes his racy acting debut in American Horror Story: Asylum

He's so far known at large as Maroon 5's frontman and judge of US talent show The Voice.
But from now on Adam Levine can add actor to his resume.
The singer has filmed a series of new roles but on Wednesday night he made his acting debut on screen as his American Horror Story: Asylum scenes aired.

The 33-year-old played Leo in the TV show, who recently married wife Teresa, played by Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
In the candid shots the pair headed off on a 'haunted honeymoon' as they travelled to Briarcliff Manor insane asylum.
After hunting for the most haunted places in the country the asylum was their last stop, but after trying to get intimate to enjoy their honeymoon they soon realised they were not alone and that it could become their final stop altogether.

Racy: The role is a far cry from how fans are used to seeing him at the moment as a judge on The Voice

And Adam certainly lived up to the hype as he was seen in the racy and scary scenes.
He could be seen writhing around with Jenna as they got steamy in the haunted venue as she flashed her lingerie and giggled with delight before things went awry.
Levine made the switch from singing into his microphone to baring his tattoos and getting in a racy clinch with his on screen wife in the scenes.

And his acting skills were put to the test as he wasn't just required to kiss a girl for the special episode.
He could later be seen being gagged with a blood splatted shirt lying outside.
And the scenes were so controversial thanks to the content that an age restriction was put on a teaser clip on the show's Facebook page, which was tagged with the line: 'Only we can make insanity look this sexy.'

Raunchy: The role put Adam out of his comfort zone but he seems to be wanting to make a name for himself in acting as well as singing

Out of control: Levine can next be seen opposite Keira Knightley in 2013 movie Can A Song Save Your Life?

Atmospheric: The TV and stage star showed off his talents after filming the episode over the summer

While it may have only been his acting debut, Levine is set to be seen on screen in several other projects coming up.
He will next be seen in movie Can A Song Save Your Life? in which he appears with a large beard alongside the likes of A-list stars Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo.
They have been shooting scenes over the summer but the film will air next year.
