'No fit mother': Kim Kardashian is targeted by Twitter trolls over her pregnancy after posting picture of herself in a nightclub on New Year's Eve

It didn’t take long for her pregnancy to become the target of vile abuse of internet trolls.
Only days after announcing she was to have a baby, reality TV star Kim Kardashian was accused of being unfit to be a mother because she celebrated New Year in a nightclub.
Thousands of comments have now been left on an Instagram photograph posted on Twitter by Miss Kardashian of herself with a friend.

Many of the social networking site users made cruel remarks about the 32-year-old socialite’s weight and criticised her for being in a club while pregnant.
One user labelled her ‘no fit mother’ while another called her ‘fat’, adding ‘lose some weight’.
She was also described as being ‘busted and old news’ and accused of ‘f****** up’ her baby.
Miss Kardashian’s boyfriend rapper Kanye West revealed her pregnancy at a concert, and the abuse started hours after the picture went online showing her at 1Oak nightclub in Las Vegas with her friend and fellow reality TV star Brittny Gastineau.

Miss Kardashian tweeted the image of Miss Gastineau and herself on New Year’s day, to a barrage of hateful comments.
The criticism has now sparked a backlash with fans and anti-trolling campaigners reacting angrily, leaving their own messages of support and describing the ‘haters’ as ‘losers’ and ‘lowlifes’.
Margaret Morrissey of campaign group ParentsOutloud said: ‘My New Year Wish would be that people could be stopped writing on social networking in this way.
‘[Miss Kardashian] is not the only one who suffers from this abuse, and it is abuse, it needs to be made illegal.

'Why do people think they can be abusive and rude on line mostly to someone they do not know and have never met.
‘It is hurtful and is not necessary and needs to be followed up by the police as remarks on Twitter are. We need to set our young people examples and some decency rules to live by. Being famous does not means people can target you with nasty rude remarks.’
Miss Kardashian is the latest celebrity with a baby to have been targeted by internet trolls in recent months.
In October Adele was targeted after the birth of her baby boy was announced.
Her news went up on Twitter and within minutes shocking tweets threatening to kill both Adele and her son had been posted.
Other cases have involved X Factor judge Gary Barlow, 41, who was taunted after his daughter was stillborn in August and Olympic diver Tom Daley, 18.

Miss Kardashian and Mr West have been together for around eight months despite Miss Kardashian still being legally married to Kris Humphries.
The socialite and her family found fame after becoming the subject of U.S. reality television show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Miss Kardashian’s older sister, Kourtney, gave birth in front of the cameras, prompting speculation that Kim, who froze her eggs during filming, may do the same.
At the time Twitter users labelled the uncensored scenes as ‘gross’ and ‘creepy’.
Internet trolling involves posting inflammatory or off-topic messages online, usually aimed at provoking others.
Until recently trolls had been able to retain anonymity but in June 45-year-old Nicole Brookes won a landmark legal case against those who victimised her after she posted an X Factor-related comment on Facebook.
Their identities were revealed following a legal order granted by a High Court Judge and campaigners hope it will put an end to online bullying.
