'I love the British public': Heidi and Spencer saved from eviction as they accept secret task and pretend to quit Celebrity Big Brother

They were already feeling the euphoria of being saved by the public, but then things got even better for them.
Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag were given a special secret task by Big Brother that could give them immunity from the next round of nominations.
Spencer, 29, and Heidi, 26, were visibly relieved to be staying in the house as Paula Hamilton was the first celebrity evicted.

As Paula was sent out to face the angry mob, Spencer and Heidi were called to the diary room by Big Brother.

There they were told that they would have the chance to win immunity if they staged a faux walkout from the house.
In order to be successful in the task Spencer and Heidi had to convince their fellow housemates that they were leaving the show with immediate effect.
The reality television stars, nicknamed Speidi, had to tell the rest of the house that they had been threatening to leave the show all along.

The married couple had to say they were leaving because they were angry that everyone had nominated them for eviction this week.
As their reward for staging the walkout they were told that for 24 hours they would be placed downstairs in the newly refurbished basement.
Big Brother said: 'You'll be going downstairs to a newly pimped out basement which has been pimped out in Speidi style.'

As if that wasn't enough to lure them into the task they were also told that they would be able to influence events in the house while watching the housemates on television.
Speidi whooped with delight and chanted 'God save the Queen' and 'I love the British public' as Big Brother told them that controlling the house is 'the ultimate Big Brother power'.
True to their word the couple headed back to the main house and fooled the remaining celebrities with their tale of frustration.
Then they were taken via the diary room back to the basement which was kitted out with a huge flat screen television and photographs of their loved ones.
Heidi and Spencer were in their element as they prepared to unleash hell on the rest of the house.
